Columbia University Baseball Locker Room Renovation

Columbia University commissioned Belmont Freeman Architects to renovate the Baseball Locker Room in Chrystie Field House, in Columbia’s athletic complex at the northern tip of Manhattan. The facility’s existing layout was cramped and inefficient. A centrally located bathroom divided the locker room into two sections, which made team gathering difficult and inhibited comradery. BFA worked with JFK&M Engineers to create a centralized locker room with lounge furnishings, flanked by refurbished shower and toilet rooms. Supergraphics by CU Athletics animate the space. The space was in use for the 2026 baseball season as planned.
