The Four Seasons

New York, NY, 2009
As The Four Seasons, the legendary restaurant in the Seagram Building, approaches its fiftieth anniversary, Belmont Freeman Architects has been engaged to design a restoration of the modernist masterpiece by Philip Johnson. The restaurant, which opened in July of 1959, is a designated New York City Interior Landmark. The carefully researched renovations will focus on the restoration of original finishes, fixtures and furnishings, as well as upgrades to mechanical systems and lighting. Construction will begin in July, 2009, and be executed in carefully staged phases to allow the restaurant to stay in operation during renovation.
